I would LOVE to design for you if you are a challenge blog or even hold a guest designer spot, but I will no longer be able to accept design team positions for companies or manufacturers due to the new Stampin' UP Demonstrator agreement if I will be required to link to them on my blog.
I am under contract with the above companies and will happily be fulfilling my DT commitments to them. Thank you for your understanding.

About me

My Photo
thescrapmaster
Hello, my name is Samantha, and I am the creator of SPCC, the brand new color challenge blog. I am a full time undergraduate college student addicted to scrapbooking (especially patterned paper & stamps!!). I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator & love stamps! I also blog daily at Scrapmaster's Paradise. My fiance and I live with our 5 wonderful dogs in a small town in Tennessee. As an undergraduate student, I am a senior majoring in biochemistry and psychology with a pre-medical concentration. Aside from school, I love to scrapbook & do anything craft related. I spend all of my free time scrapbooking or making cards. I don't know what I will end up doing with my future, but no matter where life takes me, I will be a scrapmaster for life!

Use It Tuesday #32

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Every Tuesday, I am digging into my stash and using something I have been hoarding. I have a room full of stuff and I am going to try to USE IT!! I hope you will join me and start using your own stuff more. Go Use it!!

Today my Use It Tuesday project involves using cardstock scraps, an eyelet (I know one down, 10thousand more to go!! LOL), and some brand new paper (rather than hoarding it).

This is the cover for the second mini album that I am making for my aunt to give as a Christmas present. This is an 8X8inch album.

  • The cardstock is all Stampin' UP: Almost Amethyst, Brilliant Blue, Kiwi Kiss (retired In Color 08-09), Basic Black, and Whisper White.
  • The music notes were made using the Cricut Hannah Montana cartridge.
  • The alphabets were made using the Cricut Don Juan cartridge.
  • The tag was made using the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cartridge.
  • The big marquee was made using the Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge.
  • Around the "Concert" Letters, I used Stickles.
  • The background patterned paper is from the DCWV Music Stack. I got it specifically for this album so you will be seeing a lot more of this paper.
  • To set the eyelet, I used my handy dandy crop-a-dile!

Your Stampin' With Sami Shopping List contains all of the current Stampin' UP products that I used on today's project. Feel free to order from me anytime online through my Stampin' UP website (click on shop now!) or via email at scrapmastersparadise@yahoo.com .

Well, I WON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! An awesome guy named Andy in the UK gave away a Sweet Treats cartridge AND a Paisley cartridge and I was fortunate enough to win the Sweet Treats cartridge!!! Well it came in the mail today so you know I just had to play with it!! (Click on his name to visit his blog, he has majorly cool projects!)

This cartridge is super neat because it has party favor boxes and cupcake wrapper/boxes on it! So this container I made is actually one of the cupcake wrappers, but I didn't have any cupcakes handy (shame on me!) so I filled it with candy instead :O)

Then I cut the saying from the cartridge also. And as the title of my post suggests, I used this week's SP Color Combo (#23) to pick out the colors!!

I am totally loving my brand new toy and I want to give a special shout out to Andy!!!! THANK YOU ANDY!!!! You rock!!!
Makes you want to eat candy all day, huh??? I can't leave this on my desk or it will be gone today LOL :O)

And here is SPCC #23:

Be sure to come by the SPCC blog and play along with this week's colors because we've got COPICS to giveaway this week!! YIPPEE SKIPPY!!

Spread the Love Blog Hop!

**This post will remain at the top of my blog until November 9th, please scroll down for your daily dose of Scrapmaster's Paradise**

Welcome Blog Hoppers! You should be arriving here from Ann's blog. If you are just now joining the Spread the Love Blog Hop, please click here to start from the beginning so you can see all the great art work and learn more about Jaimie and her family.

Here's what the hop is about:
On October 4th, 4 teenagers armed with knives broke into a home in a small town in New Hampshire. Alone and sleeping inside were a mother and her 11 year old daughter. These 4 boys broke into this home with the intent to rob and kill anyone inside. They stabbed the mom, Kimberly Cates, to death and left her daughter, Jaimie, for dead in their driveway. It was a completely random act, their home was chosen only due to its secluded surroundings."

Our hope is that everyone hopping around today will stop for a moment and think about Jaimie and her father and what life must be like for them now. One moment in time has changed their lives forever. We are asking that everyone reading this message please take a moment to make a card and send it off to Jaimie. You can make something very simple or much more involved, but please share some words of hope and love and let her know that people do care and want the best for her. Please send your card to the address below:

Jaimie Cates
c/o Mont Vernon Fire Station
Main Street
Mont Vernon, NH 03057

And if that isn't enough, if you make a card and send it off, you could win a prize!! Check out the Stamp Something . . . for Jaimie Blog.

Now here is the card I made for Jaimie:

Jaimie likes pink and black so I created this rock star themed card for her :O) This card was created using all Stampin' UP papers and cardstock, the Cricut Indie Art cartridge, the Cricut Hannah Montana cartridge, and some bling!

I hope you enjoyed the card. I hope you will take a moment to make a card for Jaimie today. I joined this blog hop because I felt like THIS of all things is why we make cards and I wanted to show my support for Jaimie and her family. We make cards to help spread the love and to show people we care.

Your next stop is with Sharon, click here to visit her now.

Fishing For Presents Card

Before I get to the big Stamp Set of the Week Reveal. . . I have one last Cold and Cuddly stamp set card to share with you!

I actually designed this one a while back for a card class I was giving, but I was saving it for the right time to post it.

  • The class I was teaching was about masking so I used masking for the stamped scene.
  • The stamps are all from the Stampin' UP Cold & Cuddly stamp set. I inked the edges of the Whisper White cardstock with Bermuda Bay Classic Ink.
  • The Kraft cardstock was embossed with a Texturz plate using the Big Shot machine. Then it was matted onto Bermuda Bay cardstock.
  • The patterned paper is from the Stampin' UP Thoroughly Modern designer paper pack. I used the Stampin' UP Eyelet Border Punch to make the decorative border.

Wedding Thank You Card Designs

Saturday, November 7, 2009

No Stampin' With Sami lesson today!

I had a killer migraine today and one of the many medicine changes that my new specialist made was I can't take my regular migraine meds when I start getting a migraine. . . Triptans have a stroke risk associated with them and since I have been taking so many of them, she thinks I have a high risk of stroke and now I am not allowed to take them at all!! So I get a sleeping pill instead :O( No fun, and that is why I am not posting until 10PM LOL

So since my lesson was canceled for today, I thought I would finally share the wedding card designs that I made a little while ago. I ran across someone in need of 100 wedding cards (thanks to Kelly Marie!!) and I won the "bid" because the couple liked one of the following designs. So for a week, I worked on the wedding cards for this big order.

The couple had a set of colors and they wanted their flower, the Dahlia, used so I came up with these 4 designs.

The card above was made using the Stampin' UP Upsy Daisy stamp set. I also used the Stampin' UP Modern Label punch to put their names on the card. I used the Bermuda Bay In Color marker for the tips of the flowers.

For this card, I made a monogram using the Stampin' UP Lovely Letters stamp set along with the Scallop Circle Punch.

The card above is the card they picked! It was actually my favorite of the designs. I used a stamp from Unity and then the Modern Label Punch.

For this card, I used the same Unity stamp, but repeated it across the bottom of the card. Then I used the monogram from the Stampin' UP Lovely Letters stamp set.

Christmas Combo Meets Goodbye Stampy

Friday, November 6, 2009

I decided to combine Christmas Combo #13 and Goodbye Stampy #8.

I am about to take a nap LOL, because this week has been killer. My new doc is switching around a bunch of my medications and I am definitely feeling it. I hope this weekend I can catch up on some projects and be refreshed for next week! :O)

Each week, for Goodby Stampy I will feature a project using a retired Stampin' UP stamp set and if you have the stamp set, I hope you will share your projects on here as well, just post a link to your project using the same stamp set for that week in the comments section below! I am sure I am not the only one out there with a bunch of retired stamp sets so I hope we can have some fun! I might just feature you on my blog!!

This week, I decided to use a retired set called Polar Pals. This set is super cute because it has an Eskimo in it!!!

Remember, if you use my Christmas Combo for your Christmas or Winter Holiday project, add your project to Mr. Linky below. You might just be featured on my blog!!! And you will get my special "I was Featured" button for your blog. :O) To see my other Christmas Combos, click here!

And here is my project:
The penguins are from the Cold & Cuddly stamp set and the Eskimo and sentiment are from the retired Polar Pals stamp set.
  • I stamped the Eskimo in Not Quite Navy classic ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then stamped it again in Basic Black Classic ink onto Creamy Caramel cardstock. After the ink dried, I cut out the face and hair out of the Creamy Caramel and attached it to the Eskimo body.
  • The penguins were stamped in Pale Plum classic ink and then cut out.
  • I used the Stampin' UP Corner rounder punch and the Stampin' UP Scallop Edge Punch on the Whisper White cardstock and then matted it onto a piece of Pale Plum cardstock.
  • The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Signature Christmas glitter paper pack.
  • The sentiment was punched out using the Stampin' UP Curly Label Punch and then layered onto a Not Quite Navy punch out (I just turned the curly label punch outs so they went opposite of each other!! Neat huh?!)

Sunday Storage & Organization: Cricut Cartridges

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Later today, I will have a new Stamp Set of the Week to reveal to you, but I also wanted to share my updated Cricut storage with you!

These little "cubes" hook together and I got them for $1 each! Each little cube holds 4 cartridges. The store changed the style of the cubes this last time I went to buy more, so I had to buy the kind with the holes in it (the whole left column). They are still basically the same, just a little different color, but they will work just as good :O)

Anyway, I decided to get more cubes because. . . I have a few cartridges on the way! YIPPEE!! I will say more about this when one arrives. AND I hope to get some of the newer carts someday soon as well tee hee hee!!

This is what I call the Cricut station. To the left I have my computer desk, then this big desk shown here. Next to my Cricut station, I have the scanner, paper trimmer, and ribbon holder. Then on the wall, I have my bulletin board.

I'm A Big Shot!! Challenge #1

The I'm A Big Shot Challenge Blog has officially opened for business :O) I posted the first challenge and I am psyched to get started. I have lots planned up my sleeve so be sure to go over and check it out!

For today's project, I wanted to share the card I made for Challenge #1 -stamp on raw chipboard:
I have always wanted to try this technique, but I have always just inked the whole piece of chipboard or covered it with glitter. . . never stamped it. So this was a challenge for me too! I am sure everyone will think of great things to do for this challenge.

  • I used my Big Shot to cut out the chipboard letters using the Stampin' UP Simple Letters dies.
  • I stamped the letters using Old Olive Classic Ink and a stamp from the Stampin' UP Friends 24-7 stamp set.
  • The card background was made out of Whisper White cardstock and Real Red cardstock. The Real Red cardstock was run through the Big Shot using a Texturz plate.
  • The ribbon is Whisper White taffeta ribbon.

I made a mini tutorial for stamping on chipboard :O)

I took this first photo to show you what I do when I am running letters through the Big Shot. I don't like to make a bunch of letters I don't need so I cut my material (in this case chipboard) down to approx. the size I need and then line it up with the letter I want to cut out. That way I don't waste a whole piece of my material and I don't end up with 5 extra letters I don't want. I don't like to waste!

Often, I get asked "Where can I find raw chipboard?" and the answer to that is easy!!! Stampin' UP sells it in sheets specifically designed for using with the Big Shot. It is called On Board Long Board and it comes in a pack of 6 sheets that measure 5&3/4X13&3/4inches. I have heard that people have real trouble finding raw chipboard sheets so I wanted to make sure everyone knows that Stampin' UP does sell them!

After you cut out your chipboard shapes that you want to use, it is time to stamp! I just used Old Olive Classic Ink to stamp on my letters, but you could use Craft ink to make the ink show up brighter. With Craft ink, you will have to heat set your ink with a heating tool so keep that in mind.

For my stamp, I chose this stamp from the Stampin' UP Friends 24-7 stamp set. You can choose any stamp you want to use.

Then ink your stamp and stamp away!! Here is a photo of the letters after they were stamped:

She's Puppylicious Layout

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

I think this is one of my favorite layouts that I have made of all time. :O) It is pretty simple, but I just love the title and I love my little puppy, Emma's face. This is her puppylicious face that she always makes, even now that she is much bigger. She just gives you a blank little stare like, "What are you looking at me for?"

I made this layout for this week's Practical Scrapper's challenge. The challenge this week was to use three different kinds of ribbon on your project.

  • The three ribbons are from Stampin' UP: the two ribbons I used as borders are retired ribbons that I ordered a while back from the Clearance Rack in my Stampin' UP online store. Once the items in the Clearance Rack run out, they are gone for good, so be sure to stock up now :O) You can get to the Clearance Rack by going to my Stampin' UP website and clicking on Shop Now.
  • The ribbon on the tag is 1/4inch Rose Red grosgrain ribbon. The tag itself was made from Pretty in Pink cardstock using the Cricut Zooballoo cartridge. I decorated it with stamps from the Stampin' UP D is for Dog stamp set. I did my journaling with my Basic Black Stampin' Write marker.
  • The patterned paper in the background is from My Mind's Eye Lovenest glitter paper stack.
  • My photos are matted on Pretty in Pink cardstock and the cardstock background is Pink Pirouette (retired In Color 08-09). I stamped on the background cardstock using the tiara stamp from the Stampin' UP Quinceanera stamp set. This stamp set is only featured in the Spanish Catalog, but I just LOVED the beautiful girl in the set so I had to get the set once I saw it.
  • The princess accent was made from cardstock and patterned paper using the Cricut Hannah Montana cartridge. The cardstock is Stampin' UP Basic Black and Pretty in Pink. The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye. I accented the crown with a rhinestone.
  • The title was made out of Basic Gray cardstock using the Cricut Lyrical Letters cartridge.
  • The buttons are misc. from my stash.

Your Stampin' With Sami Shopping List contains all of the current Stampin' UP products that I used on today's project. Feel free to order from me anytime online through my Stampin' UP website (click on shop now!) or via email at scrapmastersparadise@yahoo.com .

Cricut Wednesday

Hello everyone!

I had a late start today because I am now in the process of switching lots of medications so it made me headachey this morning. I had an appointment with a headache specialist yesterday so I am in the process of discontinuing a bunch of medicines I am on and starting a couple of new medicines (I have a lot more to say about my appointment later).

For now, I have a very special and fun project to share with you for Cricut Wednesday. This project was made using the Cricut When It's Cold Outside cartridge.

  • This project was created for the Just Buggin' Challenge for this week, which is to use glitter on your project.
  • I cut out the Whisper White cardstock using the Cricut When It's Cold Outside cartridge. The snowflake is two separate die cut pieces that I had to stick together.
  • The ribbon is 1/4 Real Red grosgrain ribbon.
  • Then I covered the entire surface of the snowflake with Stampin' UP Crystal Effects and then sprinkled Stampin' UP Dazzling Diamonds glitter over the whole thing.

Use It Tuesday #31

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Every Tuesday, I am digging into my stash and using something I have been hoarding. I have a room full of stuff and I am going to try to USE IT!! I hope you will join me and start using your own stuff more. Go Use it!!

Last week was part 1 of a two part series of Use It Tuesday where I challenged you to use some of your *ahem* less than beautiful scrapbook paper. Well, I have a BUNCH of ugly paper and I used a bunch of it!! So much of it that I couldn't share it all with you in one segment so I made it a two part series LOL. So here is part two:

Last week I shared this with you:
IDEA #2 Scrap some Scraps!! Your layouts don't always have to be just photos. Put some real life scraps on there.

Well I all my layouts today are layouts of all the cards I have received over the last year or so. I cherish the cards I receive so I thought, why not scrap them?? So here they are! I attached only the backs of the cards to the patterned papers so that I can still read the inside of the cards when I want to go back and look at them.

This first one is NOT on ugly paper. I actually used my most cherished paper because these cards meant so much to me. These are the sympathy cards I received in March when my dear dog Taylor passed away. It is hard even now for me to look at this, but I wanted to preserve my memory of my little baby. (The paper is Stampin' UP's Green Tea which is retired, I would love to go back in time and buy 10 more packs LOL).

And here are layouts of bunches of cards. . . I have kept them in my "to be scrapped" pile and also they have been sitting out decorating my scrap room. (please note that a couple of them are actually my cards because I pulled down all the cards that were decorating the room).

I am not attaching a shopping list because the ugly paper I used is not Stampin' UP paper and there is SOOO much Stampin' UP stuff used on the actual cards, you would never know what was what. If you have a question about any of the cards you see, please write me an email and I would be happy to answer your questions!

November Free Stamp Set!!!

At the end of November, I am going to give away the Stampin' UP Great Friend stamp set to one lucky customer!!!!! Read about my Free Stamp Set of the Month here!

This is one of the cutest stamp sets! The one in the photo is my personal set because I haven't ordered the set I am giving away yet so I didn't have a photo handy (I will plan ahead next month, but I sadly forgot to plan ahead this month and I already placed my order by the time I remember I needed a stamp set!! LOL).

I really like this stamp set, especially the journaling shape! It is just the cutest little shape and I really like well, everything about it! It is just a great classic set that is a must have.

Free Stamp Set of The Month

I am going to give away a stamp set FOR FREE every month!!!!

Here's how it works:

At the beginning of the month, I will announce what stamp set I will be giving away at the end of the month and everyone who places a minimum $10 Stampin' UP order through me during the month will be entered for a chance to win. Online orders and hostess club orders are eligible. The stamp set will be brand new, unused, and unmounted!

I will assign each order a number and then use a random number generator at the end of the month to pick the winner.

The fine print:
  • Orders must have a minimum merchandise total of $10 (pre-tax and pre-shipping)
  • Orders must be placed through my online Stampin' UP website before midnight on the last day of the month to count for the current month (or that order will count for the following month).

CURRENT MONTH:

November 2009:

Stamp Set: Great Friend (photo is of the set I own, but the set I give away will be brand new, unused and unmounted!!)
PAST MONTHS:

Right now, I want to share the first ever Challenge Masters Card challenge!! I am so excited to be on the Card design team over at Challenge Masters. Be sure to come on by and check out all the awesome challenges. There are challenges for EVERYTHING paper crafts, it is awesome!!

This card also uses Christmas Combo #11!! One of my oddest Christmas Combos, I hope you will test it out :O)
Remember, if you use my Christmas Combo for your Christmas or Winter Holiday project, add your project to Mr. Linky below. You might just be featured on my blog!!! And you will get my special "I was Featured" button for your blog. :O) To see my other Christmas Combos, click here!

Here is my card:

And here is the Christmas Combo #11:
Here is another view of my card:

  • The card base was made from Stampin' UP Bashful Blue cardstock. The scallop with the cutouts shape was made using the Cricut Wild card cartridge.
  • The inner circles were cut out of Whisper White cardstock and My Mind's Eye Summer Song glitter paper. I cut the circles from the Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge.
  • The snowmen are from the Stampin' UP Snow Buddies stamp set, which is a hostess level 2 stamp set from the Holiday Mini catalog (it will only be available until Jan 4th!). They were stamped onto Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black Classic ink (which is waterproof so you can color without smudging!! YEAH!!). The hats are separate stamps from the snowmen so you can choose what hats you want to use. To stamp the hats on, I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get perfect placement. Then I colored in everything with coordinating Stampin' UP Markers.
  • The little snow mountains were cut out from the Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge from Whisper White cardstock. I used a Stampin' UP Sponge dauber to ink up the top of the little mountains with Bashful Blue Classic Ink.
  • The sentiment is from the Stampin' UP Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I stamped it in Basic Black Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Then I punched out the sentiment using the Modern Label Punch.
  • The outline around the Modern Label punch is from a Punch Window Movers & Shapers die. To use this die, I ran it through my Big Shot machine. The cardstock used was Tangerine Tango (retired In Color 08-09), but you could substitute Only Orange cardstock.

To play along with Christmas Combo #11, enter your direct link to your project to Mr. Linky below:

Stampin' With Sami Lesson: Ribbon & The Card Base

Each Saturday, I hope to have a Stampin' With Sami (SWS) Lesson for you -in the form of a tutorial with step-by-step photos. It will either be a fancy technique or a cool new way to use a product. The purpose of me bringing your these mini workshops is to hopefully convince you to become one of my lovely Stampin' UP customers :O)

With that said, if you would like to order any of the Stampin' UP products shown today (or any other day) please email me scrapmastersparadise@yahoo.com or order online 24/7 by clicking on my awesome blog button:

Today, I am going to teach you my little technique for attaching ribbon to a card. I am sure some of you out there already do this or at least have seen this done, but while teaching a class, I had to back up a step and teach this because no one in the class had ever seen this before so I hope that some of you will learn something new today :O)

My full card details will be posted tomorrow.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:
  • Cardstock for your card base (used here us a piece of Whisper White cardstock 8.5X5.5inches scored and folded in the center)
  • Cardstock for your card front(used here is a piece of Whisper White cardstock 4.25X5.5inches)
  • Ribbon (Bermuda Bay Polka Dot In Color ribbon used here)
  • Embellishments or layers for your card (used here is the a wedding stamp from the Stampin' UP To Have and To Hold stamp set, which is retired)
  • SNAIL Adhesive

First, I want to go over a little card "strategy and terminology" for you to make sure we are all on the same page and you understand a little of how I work on my cards. Shown in the photo above there is a card base and a card front.

Card Base: The cardstock part of your card that becomes the folded piece, in which you will write in. For a standard greeting card like shown here, it is half of a 8.5X11sheet of cardstock and then fold it in half.
Card Front: The front piece of your card, which you will later attach to the card base. For a standard greeting card, this is a quarter of a 8.5X11sheet of cardstock.

When I am designing projects, I make all my card fronts first, and then attach them to card bases as I use the cards. That way, they don't take up as much room for one thing, which is a definite plus.

I use the card base/card front method because you can hide things like brad backings, ribbon ends, etc. Also, even if your decorated card is a dark color, you can still easily write on the inside of your card because you can make your card base out of white cardstock or a light color.

Finally, another upside to using the Card base/front method. . . it makes your card thicker and it just comes off as more handmade and professional to me. Of course, this last point is totally personal preference :O)

STEPS:
1. After decorating the rest of your card as desired, decide where you want to attach your ribbon. If desired, tie a knot like shown above. Cut a length of ribbon so there is at least an inch of excess ribbon left on the piece of ribbon.

2. Using SNAIL adhesive, attach adhesive to the back side of the ribbon. Make sure to get adhesive especially at the ends of the ribbon. Place ribbon where desired on your card front and press to attach. (TIP: sometimes with SNAIL adhesive, you may need to rub a little over the ribbon to generate a little heat to make the bond permanent).

3. Flip your card front over and fold over the ends of the ribbon so they are attached to the back of your card front.

4. Attach your card front to your card base. Complete your card as desired.

Now the ends of the ribbon are tucked inside the card so there are no loose ends and no fraying to worry about!!

Here is a photo of the edge of the card. You can just see the ribbon folded inside the card. I think it gives the card a nice professional look :O)

And here is the completed card:
DISCLAIMER: If you have ever looked around on my blog, you can probably tell that I am what I like to call a HIGH VOLUME paper crafter (meaning I am creating MANY projects on a DAILY basis). That means I use LOTS and LOTS of adhesive. As such, I have opted not to be a daily user of SNAIL adhesive for everyday crafting because I just go through adhesive (especially tape runners) so quickly. If you are anything like me, I would suggest using Stampin' UP's Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive, which is a liquid glue. It seems to go a LONG way so you get more bang for your buck. I would save the SNAIL for things in which you need a tape runner, like ribbon.

Happy Snowman Card

Happy Saturday and Happy Halloween!!

I have been working on wedding thank you cards a lot today and finally finished them. JUST IN TIME because my new Limited Edition Cricut cartridges came in the mail today!!! I wasn't expecting them to arrive until Monday so I jumped up and down with excitement :O) I pre-ordered all three of the new ones: Snow Friends, Very Merry Tags, and When It's Cold Outside.

As normally scheduled for Saturday, I also have a new Stampin' With Sami Lesson prepared and ready to type up for tonight so stay tuned for that as well!

Here is my first card using the new carts:

  • The base of the card is Stampin' UP Real Red cardstock. I embossed the cardstock using a Texturz plate and the Big Shot.
  • This cart features a snowman from the Cricut Snow Friends cartridge. His little outfit was cut out of patterned paper from the Stampin' UP Merry Moments designer paper pack and Very Vanilla cardstock. I used the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write marker to make the buttons and the stitches on his vest and hat. His cheeks, lips and nose were cut from cardstock (Pretty in Pink, Basic Black, and Only Orange) but his eyes were drawn on because the little circles were too small to glue on. I drew them on with the Basic Black Stampin' Write marker.
  • The snowflake was cut out of Old Olive cardstock using the Cricut When It's Cold Outside cartridge. This wasn't one of the most intricate snowflakes on the cartridge, but it wasn't the easiest one either and the Stampin' UP cardstock cut perfectly. I know some people had worried that the intricate cuts might not cut very well, but I think they will probably cut ok after trying this one out.
  • The sentiment is from the Stampin' UP Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I punched it out with the Stampin' UP Modern Label punch. See the border around the modern label??? I made that with one of the Movers& Shapers dies!!!!! I just got these with my last order and I love them!!! The Movers & Shapers have to be used with the Big Shot. I have a Stampin' With Sami Lesson on the Movers & Shapers (click here to see it).

Celebrating 80 Mini Album

Friday, October 30, 2009

Technically it is still Friday so I am still good, although I am extremely late at getting this posted. :O)

Today was a very bad migraine day so I didn't make it to my exam this morning (UGH I HATE being the sick kid and having to have a make-up exam!!!) and didn't make it into the scrap room until late in the evening (8ish). The projects I worked on tonight cannot be shown because my camera had to be charged so I have another project to share with you!

This is the beginning of a mini album I am making for my aunt (technically she is really my Godmother) to give as a Christmas Present. This is an 8X8 album.

For this title page, I used some misc. patterned paper, Very Vanilla cardstock, and Rich Razzleberry cardstock. The alphabets were made using the Cricut Storybook cartridge with the shadow feature.

All of the supplies used here came from my stash. The cardstock used is Lavender Lace cardstock. The flower is a Prima, but for the center, I used a punch out from the Stampin' UP Boho Blossoms Punch and a button.

The journaling square was made using the recipe stamp from the Stampin' UP From the Kitchen of stamp set using Not Quite Navy Classic Ink.
